Recordings for all sessions included] Intention Wares' (intentionwares.ca) in.Gratitude course is a 6-week online live interactive inquiry into the world of gratitude and all it offers. This experience includes an additional powerful setup session to help you prepare. Establish a Meditation Practice 8 week course instructed by Szara Turpel of Life Artist .School. All dates are online zoom meetings. Starts Feb 22nd through to April 12th. This Establishing a Meditation Practice Course will focus on Samatha meditation. Samatha is a 'Pali' word that translates as “tranquility of the mind; mind calmness”. Samatha is developed by Samadhi (“Concentration; one pointedness of the mind; mental discipline”). Through focusing our attention, developing our concentration, mindfulness and mental discipline, we gain expanded access to stay present and ‘be in and with the moment’ without engaging in whatever distractions our environment or mind creates for us. It supports breath or spaciousness in our state and awareness to bring a heightened level of responsiveness vs reactivity. With practice we have greater access to an experience of calmness, clarity and tranquility. Samatha is the foundation of any good meditation practice including Vipassana (insight meditation). We will touch on Vipassana and incorporate the fundamentals setting you up to practice in the later weeks of this course. In this course you will: Learn and experience the many benefits of a meditation practice, Learn varying types of meditations and best use for yourself, Establish your location, timing, rhythm and practice that works best for you and your life, Learn the basics of breathwork and chakras, Work with a mantra, Develop a walking Meditation Practice, Develop a sitting Meditation Practice, Develop an open, insight Meditation Practice, Learn in Community, Have a structure for accountability and support “Meditation is similar to a water filter that removes impurities from the water, leaving the water suitable for drinking, which is essential for good health. You will choose your length of time for your daily practice and it is recommended for at least 15 min daily. Love is everywhere. It comes in many forms of itself. Some forms are so evident it demands of my attention; I fall into; I fall in love. Some forms of love have me question is love here at all; leaving me in despair or resignation, jaded to the idea of love itself. Sometimes love looks like the absence of love; the lack of love; and it’s not. It’s love cleverly disguised. The ‘absence of love’ or lack of love is the contrast to bring love to being, to bring love to form. To bring love to be seen. It’s the sandbox of love. Make this moment freaking count! 'k?
Seriously! You are just too precious not to. This life, this year, this month, this day, this moment; RIGHT NOW. It is YOURS and yours alone. This is your experience; yours to create, yours to say. Sure you don't have much of a say in what happens to you; those bumps that you hit along the way. BUT you sure have a say in who you are about those bumps and how you say it goes from there. And you get to experience it all! All of what it is to be human, the whole range. It is all yours to dis.cover. This moment, this life, it is yours to dis.cover; it is yours to play. This moment is yours to celebrate; it is yours to create. It is literally what you say this moment is that shapes this moment. Reality forms around you. This world is a perfect place for me to discover. In it’s darkness, in it’s pain, in it’s suffering, I get to feel out all that is here. I have it that this world is here for me to create myself and to rise but really I am already created. I am discovering that creation, that which I really am. I get to discard everything that is not really me. In this world I get to dis.cover me; these pieces of myself; my definition. I can define and refine. It is only with this contrast that I can do this. What am I not comes before what am I. Though what I am was there in the beginning. In contrasting all that I am not I get to see what I am. With contrast I can see. With this contrast I dis.cover. I bump up against everything I am not. I react. In that reaction, *if* I can observe, I get to see what is not me and what is. I get to see what is important which is whispered ever so lightly or roared fiercely. I get to choose what is me once witnessed. I get to choose to let go that which I am not. I get to choose that which I am. In contrast I get clear. I get defined. I get dis.covered. Oh how I love to get mad at the world for not delivering that which I wish for, what I long for. When in fact the world is delivering perfectly. It gives me the walls to bump up against, the contrast to find my edges, to dis.cover my definition, dis.cover the creation I am. And I get to create… not create me as I already am created. I create from me in this ever expansive universe. I create more of the story, the telling of the tale, I create the living form. Living is my art form, life is my medium. I get to dis.cover; I get to play. Acknowledged. Validated. Witnessed. I am here. I see you. I hear you. Thank you. I love you. We are here to see life. We are here to experience life. To juice every last inch of it. Every corner. Every crack. Savoured. We are here to BE life. Our ultimate purpose it to be here right now. Experiencing life itself. Life begs of us to experience it. It calls to us. To see it, to hear it, to taste it, to smell it, to touch it, to FEEL it, to witness it. We humans are but life itself in form, this vessel of experience. Begging to be seen, to be heard, to be tasted, to be touched, to be felt, to be witnessed. It is like the code calls the reader who is written in code which calls to be read. Matched in sequence. The code calls to be seen. Life is code and we are the reader. Life is the DNA and we humans are the transcribers. To be seen is to be met where I am. I move forward into it as it moves into me. I am life and life is me. Where does one end and one begin. I see you, I hear you, I taste you, I touch you, I feel you, I witness you. I witness you witnessing me witnessing you witnessing me. I live. I breathe. I witness. I am here. Now. In experience I live. Witnessed. ~Szara Premise
We only have this one life… The one and only life you get to be you in this form, in this body, in this life. WOW, what an honour! What a reason to celebrate. LIVE it! Out loud and proud! Life is here right now to be lived, danced with, fully experienced, savoured, REVERED. You might be thinking… ‘That’s all nice and everything, but that is NOT how my life looks.’ How life tends to be going: I sure know what it feels like and looks like when I’m not connected: Frustration is right there on the edge (at least annoyance), so much feels hard or out-of-reach, reactivity and snappiness can seep in, and this melancholy or lack-lustre feeling keeps lurking in the background. Oh… And don’t forget the tiredness and overwhelm that is right there to be managed. But it’s okay. I am thankful, as I have it better than a lot of other people. I trudge through making the best of things. I smile and think positive, I’m okay. I hold it together. We can’t always have everything, you know. Plus things will get better…. Right? But freaking HOW!?!?! And WHEN? This might sound just too simple and it is. Simple, but NOT easy!! What can we do Be real right now in this moment. Really, how are you feeling? What do you really think? How are things really going? Stop sugar coating and happy face stickering! Experience yourself fully right now, all of it; the good, the bad and the ‘ugly’ (you’d be surprised how beautiful ‘ugly’ is and how great it feels!) Be with it. Honour it. BARE it! Real and Raw. And right then in that moment, we Bare…. We WITNESS. We witness our Whole Self. We witness All of our Humanity. We witness Life…. And everything lives here.
